Most cloud optimization tooling is built for large teams. Enterprise FinOps platforms assume you have dedicated cloud economists, sustainability analysts, and DevOps engineers to act on recommendations. The tooling is powerful — and often out of reach for teams without a dedicated FinOps function.
European companies run real cloud workloads across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other platforms. They pay real cloud bills and face real EU governance obligations around data residency, cyber risk, and sustainability reporting. But many do not have the internal team — or the tooling — to manage cloud cost, carbon, and governance systematically.
Native cloud tools surface recommendations. They do not help you act on them safely, track what changed, or generate the kind of structured output that a compliance team or finance director can actually use.
AI adoption is accelerating this problem. LLM and AI API costs are growing fast across every cloud platform, with no standard process to attribute spend to teams, estimate energy impact, or determine whether the investment is delivering measurable value.
GreenPilot AI is built to close that gap. Consulting-first, multi-cloud, EU-first. Read-only to start. Approval-based throughout. Honest about what is and is not delivered at this stage.
Richard Schmitz is a cloud and AI consultant based in Düsseldorf, Germany. His background spans AI, machine learning, and cloud engineering. GreenPilot AI started from a direct problem: companies running cloud workloads across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud often lack the structured support to manage cost, carbon, and governance without an enterprise-scale team. The answer is not another dashboard — it is hands-on consulting that delivers results and transfers knowledge.
Before GreenPilot, Richard worked across technology and applied AI projects. He is building GreenPilot AI as a consulting-first firm with a focus on EU-first cloud governance, practical AI adoption, and measurable cost reduction across multi-cloud environments.

GreenPilot is actively engaging European companies for cloud cost reduction, carbon footprint assessment, and AI transformation consulting across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other platforms.
Structured AI transformation consulting — use-case identification, build-vs-buy, AWS Bedrock cost governance — is in active development. Azure support is on the roadmap.
Google Cloud Platform support, ML-based optimization (Phase 2), multi-cloud dashboard, and EU-confirmed infrastructure hosting are planned for future phases. Formal legal incorporation is in progress.
